Embroidery is a traditional fine art dating back through the centuries and has been used throughout time to add luxury and extravagance to whatever it may adorn, whether that be fashion, costume, home furnishings, art or accessories. As it has evolved through the years the combination of traditional techniques mixed with contemporary designs and concepts has forged a limitless art form that enables designers to bring their ideas to life and add a touch of luxury to their creations. At FN House we have documented our process in 3 easy steps:
Step-01
DESIGNING
New designs are constantly made at F N House all year long. The Creative Director personally overlooks the design and passes the sample. The process starts with discussion, over the kind of fabric, materials, and techniques to be used for passed designs. The artist then creates a small sample swatch by keeping in mind the technique, materials and color scheme of the design to get an idea of how the design will actually look like by balancing the symmetry.
Step-02
KHAKHA
Once the swatch is passed, the blueprint of the design which is drawn on butter paper with intricate detailing is a very essential component of embroidery. Then the outlines of the designs are manually perforating which allows easy access and visibility for the embroiderer to trace it over the fabric.
Step-03
DEVELOPMENT
Once the design is punched on the paper, it is superimposed onto the fabric using a special soluble solution. This solution seeps through the perforation, thereby creating an outline for the embroidery. With the frames held firm, holding the two edges of the fabric, the process of embroidery development begins. Constant supervision is conducted at every stage of the work, and if any deviation from the sample arises, it is immediately rectified and bring into actuality.
